"The Filmmaker" Won SSOTY

My short story “The Filmmaker” published by Aaron Burch at Short Story, Long won a SSOTY this year. This is the first time I’ve had a story on the list, and it’s an absolute thrill! Cole Nowicki, who has been compiling his list of the best skateboard writing for a few years now, created the list to highlight the genre’s diversity and depth. After seeing this year’s list, it’s clear that writing about skateboarding has long been a category of its own with unique concerns and perspectives that expose humanity’s most timeless foibles. This list also gives us all a chance to catch up on the articles we missed this year. I’m still working my way through it, and I recommend you do too.
